Overhaul of private rental sector

PKC needs to overhaul the private rental system in the region. Increase cost of private landlord licence, significantly if they want to charge over £700. Bringing rents into line with social rent would be ideal. Fine for landlords who take too long to fix repairs. Fines for properties with mould problems. Fines should be introduced for private owners with property empty for more than six months. Fines for commercial landlords with empty unit for more than three months. 

This is important because lowering the costs and being tougher  will half the cost of living crisis for private renters and allow them to live in a healthy home.
